Star's Story

Star had been through some pretty tough times making it hard for her to sleep and enjoy life. She missed all of her friends when she had to move, too. One day, her mom had a dream of walking with Star into a barn with small bays. Lo and behold, upon learning of this program through United Way, when her mom went to visit, it looked just like the barn in her dream! When Star sat on top of a horse, it gave her a whole new view of the world, a chance to steer her course, and she formed a special bond with the pony, Hony. With the help of her Sidewalker, she is gaining agility and won her first ribbon for completing a course. Now she smiles again and dreams of riding with Hony through the West.
